Student discussion question #1- How would you explain the context of the period of 1865 to 1898 in US History?

Discussion- Student Learning Objective- Explain the historical context for the rise of industrial capitalism in the United States. (before, during and after)

Discussion Question #2- Think back to the Periods 4 and 5 (1800-1848 and 1844-1877).  How would the expansion and prowess of railroads, canals, roads, etc. affect agriculture in the US in the second half of the 19th Century?

Discussion Question #3- How does the business climate of the late 1800's effect big business?

Discussion Question #5- How would you relate today's business climate to that of the late 1800's?
